United have made their second signing of the week with the capture of experienced left back Chris Carruthers.

The Kettering born 24 year old made over seventy starts for Northampton after progressing through the youth system, and was selected for the England under 20s side before moving to Bristol Rovers in 2005 after a successful loan. He made well over 100 starts for the Gas.

Darren Patterson was delighted with the signing:

"Chris is another great pro who has bags of experience considering his age. Like Joe Burnell he has chosen us over a number of league clubs and we are really excited to have him join."

Chris and fellow new signing Joe Burnell will be at the Fun Day tomorrow to meet the fans.
