United will look at two trialists tonight as they welcome Wycombe Wanderers for a pre-season friendly.

Both Michael Husbands, a striker, and Levi Reid, a winger have linked up with the club from Macclesfield and are likely to be on the bench as United welcome the Chairboys

Husbands was very highly rated as a youngster at Aston Villa but has become nomadic since then, having spells at Hereford, Southend, Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Port Vale and Macclesfield scoring five times in 15 starts at those clubs. Reid, 24, started his career at Port Vale before dropping down to Stafford where his pace and skills earned a move back into the Football League with Macclesfield, where he scored twice in 28 starts.

Both players may feature tonight or on Thursday when United play at Milton United in another pre-season game. Reid becomes the third forward with that surname to play on trial in pre-season, following Rueben from Plymouth and Craig from Cheltenham
