Matt Taylor announced his comeback from injury in the best possible style with a goal at St Neots last night.

The 19 year old striker has missed most of pre-season with a thigh strain but scored two an early opener with a clinical strike last night to signal his intent for the season. Youth team striker Chris Fower headed a second but, having gone 2-0 up, United faltered after the break as coach Les Taylor told us:

"We did Ok for the first twenty minutes or so and Matty got his goals and looked sharp. We were 2-1 up at half time but it's all about looking at options and getting players fit so we made changes and brought on a lot of young schoolboys and never got our rhythm back. St Neots played well, credit to them, and we're disappointed to lose but it was a game to show our youngsters the difference when you play against a senior side."
