United have strenghtened their squad ahead of the new season with two new faces

Striker Michael Husbands and winger Levi Reid have both impressed on trial in pre-season and have signed on an extended trial basis

Husbands was very highly rated as a youngster at Aston Villa and has had spells at Hereford, Southend, Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Port Vale and Macclesfield scoring five times in 15 starts at those clubs.

Reid, 24, started his career at Port Vale before dropping down to Stafford where his pace and skills earned a move back into the Football League with Macclesfield, where he scored twice in 28 starts.

Both players go straight into the United squad for the season opener at Barrow on Friday evening.
