There will be no easing up between now and the end of the season for the U's. That was the message from Darren Patterson as he looked forward to the home game against Farsley Celtic tomorrow. Darren will look for his side to end the season on a high and told Yellow World that the Farsley game is another big one for his team:

"It's vitally important, as is every home game. The fans have been magnificent and we'd like to send them all home smiling after the last Saturday game. Farsley will be fighting for their lives and it will be a similar situation to the game against Northwich. The performance wasn't too bad that day but we want a much better result this time. We want to get back to the way we played against Stevenage really.

"We trained on the pitch on Thursday and made it more of a fun thing than usual. Thursday's are usually team based but we've done a lot of that recently and after two long journeys we wanted something different to gee everyone up because they were so disappointed after Tuesday night. We should have at least drawn the game. On the night we played some excellent football, and at times carved them to bits. But we didn't win the game."

Everyone who watched the game could see positives for The U's, including two former United players:

"Chris Hargreaves played for Torquay and Steve Basham was watching and both phoned me after the game to say we were unrecognisable from the team that played at Exeter in January. That pleases me because they are two excellent pros and I respect their views. It's nice to hear that people in the game think we're going the right way."

Matt Day and Billy Turley left the pitch at Plainmoor with tempers high, but Darren believes that was just frustration spilling over:

"I didn't see it because I was already in the dressing room, and there was no argument in there at all. They obviously had their spat as they were walking off the pitch. They had shaken hands and resolved it before they got in to the dressing room. I don't think they should do it in public, but it just shows that they care deeply about losing a match. Everyone wants to know that the players care but shouldn't see it in that way.We spoke about it, they're a very honest bunch and are together. It was just frustration not to have the result on Tuesday night."
