Yemi impressed everybody when he played for Eastbourne Borough against the U's in the FA cup games in November 2005 and he joined United on an eighteen month contract. Yemi Signed for Borough in February 2005 from Yeovil Town, for whom he scored two goals from eight first team appearances. He had previously joined the Glovers during the 2004 close season from Eastbourne, having netted 33 goals during 2003/04.
The Nigerian born striker will trouble many defenders with his pace and eye for goal, and is immensely popular with the fans, who voted him their Player of the Year in 2006/7
He was top scorer in 2007/8.
