Eddie came home in the summer of 2006. A promising schoolboy at United from the age of nine, he joined Southampton at the age of 15 and became part of the same youth set-up as Theo Wallcottand Dexter Blackstock. After a spell on loan at Yeovil Eddie went on loan to Tamworth and proved his versatility by playing either at full back or on the wing, before Jim Smith brought him back to his home-town club. He soon impressed with some pacy displays on the right flank.
