Barry is midfielder or defender who joined United from Coventry City. After breaking into the Sky Blues' side during their time in the Premiership Barry picked up four full Republic of Ireland caps and became a fixture in the Coventry side during their last season in the top flight.
The Dublin born player enjoyed a fine loan spell at United at the end of the 2003/4 season and when he was told he could leave Highfield Road, United moved quickly to beat a host of other clubs who had expressed interest in the talented Irishman. Comfortable on the ball, Barry links things in the middle of the park for the U's and was a revelation at the heart of the defence in 2006/7, when he was voted Players' Player of the Year.
